To keep patients and staff safe at this time, Kwale Eye Centre is operating reduced hours. Therefore please contact the Eye Centre before travelling there. Below is a message from Kwale Eye Centre:
Covid 19 is spread by the respiratory route (breathing it in). This means that close contact (within 2 metres) with a person who may be carrying the virus (and may not know it because they are still well) is potentially dangerous to both you and your loved ones. This type of contact needs to be avoided for a few weeks if possible. Therefore, to try to lessen the spread of this potentially deadly disease, the eye centre is open for emergencies only. Please delay your spectacle check or routine eye appointment while this pandemic is being addressed. If you need routine eye drops and usually obtain them from the Eye Centre these are still available from the Eye Centre between 9am and 12 midday Monday to Friday. if you cannot get to the eye centre please get in touch on the e mail below If you need advice about your eye condition please use [email protected] giving as much information about your condition as you can. Thank you for helping us to reduce the number of people who catch this disease Kwale Eye Centre
Fundraising in a pandemic
A supporter of ours, Liz O'Donnell, has been busy making face masks for her friends and family during lockdown. Recipients of the masks gave charitable donations by way of thank you, and alongside additional donations from her generous friends and family, Liz has raised over £100 for Eyes For East Africa! Thank you to Liz, and to all who donated. The masks look fantastic!
You can buy your own mask at Liz's etsy shop, and £1.50 from every mask sale will go directly to Eyes For East Africa! Visit her shop here: https://www.etsy.com/shop/Fabriccrazymasks
Supporting us...
Most of our fundraising events have been put on halt this summer whilst the world deals with the pandemic. If you would like to support our work there are a number of ways to do so:
Click 'support us' on the menu above to give a donation or to buy something from our Eye Give shop!
We're all doing more online shopping these days, visit www.easyfundraising.org.uk and you can raise donations for us as you shop online. It doesn't cost you a penny! Visit the website to learn about how it works.
Do you have a good idea for socially distancing fundraising, like Liz in the story above? Get in touch with us using the contact form on this website and we'll happily provide you with support!
Thank you to all of our supporters over this difficult time.
