Fundraising during COVID-19

We have been so grateful to our supporters through this difficult time coming up with unique ways to fundraise for us. Longtime supporter Liz sold face masks on Etsy raising over £500 for Eyes For East Africa!

Essential Care during a Pandemic.

During the pandemic, the excellent staff at the Eye Centre continue to provide essential and urgent Eye Care.

If a child with poor vision does not get treatment when young, their neural pathways will not develop properly and they will not see clearly. Time is really important. Here we see 3 year old Hamisi being given a life of sight. Even behind the mask you can sense his mums happiness!

Care in the Community

​Despite the pandemic, our Community Based Workers are hard at work in the community, finding and helping people with eye problems. Hannah had been blind for over 5 years and, despite the pandemic, our Community Based Worker for her area was out and about on his motorbike He was tipped off by a shop keeper who reported that there was a blind old lady living nearby. Here she is, sighted again and giving the thumbs up!
