Kwale District Eye Centre - Kenya
As a charity Kwale District Eye Centre depends on the continued
generosity of donors, both overseas and local.
The international charities "SightSavers" and "Christoffel Blinden
Mission International" recognise
and support KDEC - but this is not intended to meet all our costs
and we constantly need to seek funds from other sources. The
web sites of Sightsavers, CBM and other international charities
who regularly support KDEC are listed below, thus allowing easy
access to find out more about the work of these organisations.
Restoring sight requires the resources of trained personnel,
equipment, good administration, procedures for detecting new
cases, follow up of cases and adequate support facilities. Kwale
District is a very poor area and for each person in employment
there are sixteen dependents. Patients can therefore often only
afford a small contribution towards restoring their sight.
