John had herpes simplex infection of the right eye. ( like a cold sore in the eye). Had he been treated earlier we could have saved the sight in that eye. We were able to save the eye itself and ensure that he got vitamin supplements. The mother also now understands why he should be given a good well balanced diet and immunized. John’s younger brothers and sisters, when they were born, will have a mother who knows where to come if she is worried about them.
