Riziki had been totally blind for about 5 years from cataract when we met her in her home village. She was terrified but eventually agreed to come to the Eye Centre for surgery. She underwent cataract surgery with intraocular lens implants in both eyes and returned home to see many of her grandchildren for the first time. Here we see her weaving a mat which she will sell. Not only is she no longer dependent on the family for her basic needs but she can contribute to the family income.
